Dear Dr

Greetings! I trust this letter finds you in the best of health and spirits.

I am writing this letter to you as one of the trustees of the BMC Development Trust. As you are doubtless aware, the trust was formed with the main objective of improving the infrastructure of our alma mater, through contributions from the alumni.

During the BMC Golden Jubilee Celebrations you have seen what the BMC Alumni can do – in the form of the Digital Library / Seminar Hall Complex that has been built solely from contributions from BMC Alumni and no doubt we can do much more. We have also modernized our beloved Pathology Lecture Hall in the Victoria Hospital, today.

At the risk of stating the obvious, I must bring to your kind notice that not only do we have to create and donate infrastructure, but we will have to maintain it also. I do not have to tell you the problem faced by the authorities of a Government institution in maintaining the existing facilities.

If we can persuade 5000 of our alumni to make an annual contribution of Rs. 2000/= we will be collecting a crore of rupees every year which we can spend to create new, modern facilities to the future students of our beloved alma matter! Just think! What will posterity think of us?

Through this letter, I would like to remind you of the decision we took during the Golden Jubilee Celebrations – to get alumni to donate Rs.5000/=per year towards maintaining the Digital Library, which will be acknowledged on the day specified by the donor. You can think of contributing for atleast 5 years. I request you to set the ball rolling, by getting atleast five, or ten of your friends to donate Rs.5000/- to the “ BMC Development Trust ”, by the end of August ’06, apart from your own contribution. Please remember that this is an ongoing activity and we must do what we can, where we can, when we can. AND THE TIME IS NOW. (those in the USA & UK can send US$ 125 and 75 pounds per year respectively, or 500 US dollars or 300 pounds for the next five years. And Cheques may be sent in the name of : BMC DEVELOPMENT TRUST - FCRA)

Personally, I have committed to donating Rs.25,000/= every year for the next five years.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely
